According to Canary Media, Hawaiʻi is having second thoughts about how it powers the islands. Back in twenty fifteen, Governor David Ige signed the nation's first law binding an entire state's grid to one hundred percent renewable electricity—at the time, the boldest clean-power commitment in the country. Now, Canary Media reports, Hawaiʻi is flirting with natural gas, a notable shift for the state that once set the pace on going fully renewable.
