EU’s ‘unpleasant and dangerous’ border checks need overhaul, says Greek airports boss

According to The Guardian, the executive in charge of 14 Greek airports is criticizing the European Union's new Entry-Exit System—the E-E-S. Non-EU passengers must have their fingerprints and photos taken at entry, then verified each time they leave or re-enter the Schengen zone. The resulting queues have grown so long that airport operators had to install gazebos to shield passengers from the sun. Alexander Zinell, CEO of Fraport Greece, says the system needs a fundamental overhaul.
