In Japan, authorities question dependence to air conditioning

According to France 24, air conditioning is virtually inescapable in Japan. One hundred percent of subway lines are climate-controlled, and ninety percent of apartments feature AC, often with multiple units per room. The government actively promotes their use when temperatures exceed thirty-one degrees Celsius. Yet authorities are now questioning whether this widespread dependence on cooling technology has become excessive.
