Got an odd-numbered plate? Here’s where Russia is rationing gasoline by license plate as the fuel crisis deepens.
world
According to Meduza, Russia's fuel crisis is deepening, with many regions capping how many liters drivers can buy at once and some stations running dry altogether — leaving long lines where fuel is still available. Authorities have urged patience and blamed what they call panic buying, but the shortages persist. Now several regions are turning to an odd-even rationing system: cars with even-numbered plates can fill up on even-numbered days, and odd plates on odd days. It's the same approach the United States used in states hit by Hurricane Sandy back in twenty twelve.
