US and Iran trade most intense strikes since ceasefire was extended
world
According to The Guardian, the United States and Iran have traded their most intense strikes since a shaky ceasefire was extended last month. American airstrikes on Iran overnight killed at least fourteen people, and Tehran responded by hitting Gulf countries. The exchange came after President Trump declared the agreement was over. The Guardian notes these were the largest strikes since the two sides signed a memorandum of understanding on the seventeenth of June, meant to extend the ceasefire and open space for negotiations toward a permanent truce.
