According to The Guardian, former Olympic canoeist David Hearn has pleaded not guilty to vandalizing the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool. The sixty-seven-year-old Maryland resident was arrested last month after he reached into the pool's water during a bike ride to inspect what he believed was a detached piece of the pool's blue liner. Prosecutors charged him with felony property destruction, while Hearn maintains he was simply curious about the material.
