According to The Guardian, Reform UK leader Nigel Farage has gone on the offensive against the Commons standards committee, claiming ahead of any ruling that it won't judge him fairly. Farage also told the Daily Mail he hadn't expected the main parties to sit out the Clacton byelection. Meanwhile, in a separate Labour story, Andy Burnham confirmed today that he's nominated himself for the party leadership, with nominations opening this morning and the first tally of backing MPs due this evening. Former defence minister Al Carns ruled himself out, saying months of internal Labour politics isn't what the country needs, and threw his support behind Burnham.
