Mexico investigates whether US lied about role in capture of drug lord
world
According to The Guardian, Mexico has opened an investigation into whether the United States lied about its role in capturing a top Sinaloa cartel figure. The US has long denied any involvement in the twenty twenty-four operation that detained Ismael "El Mayo" Zambada García, a founder of the cartel, on Mexican soil. But recent reporting by the local outlet Pie de Nota suggested the FBI was in fact involved. If confirmed, Mexico says that would amount to a potential violation of its sovereignty.
