AIPAC's next big 2026 target: A Democrat it already ousted from Congress last cycle
politics
According to Axios, AIPAC's super PAC is spending big to keep Democratic Rep. Wesley Bell in his Missouri seat—just two years after helping him knock out his predecessor, former Rep. Cori Bush. United Democracy Project, AIPAC's political arm, has already dropped eight hundred sixty-five thousand dollars on TV ads backing Bell, making it the race's largest ad spender. Bush, who lost narrowly in twenty twenty-four after criticizing Israel's war with Hamas, is mounting a comeback attempt. She's now framing the outside spending as a cautionary tale: constituents, she says, are angry that AIPAC 'bought' the seat, and that resentment could power her through the August fourth primary. Justice Democrats, the left-wing group supporting Bush, promises to mobilize money and volunteers for her comeback attempt.
