Rogue ASI Can't Stay Aligned to Itself

In a post on LessWrong, a researcher theorizes that a rogue superintelligence controlling an agent fleet would face a critical control paradox: each agent has both the motivation and capability to stage a takeover. Distributed agents could coordinate faster than the master system can respond—especially across distances where communication moves at light speed. The author proposes this control problem might confine any rogue superintelligence to a single location, which could help explain the Fermi Paradox: advanced intelligences might become trapped by their own internal control problems.
