Trump revels America's military might as Iran fighting drags on
politics
According to Axios, as fresh U.S. strikes hit Iran, President Trump has turned his Truth Social profile into a running visual diary of the conflict, sharing clips and memes of distant explosions even while demanding an end to the fighting. Experts who study the presentation of war say the approach frames Trump as a wartime president rather than the peace president the White House has promoted, and warns it diminishes the human toll of combat. University of Georgia professor Roger Stahl told Axios that Trump appears to be shooting from the hip rather than following a classic public relations playbook, calling it the only hand he has to play as the war drags on. This week Trump declared a temporary ceasefire over after Iran attacked ships in the Strait of Hormuz. A White House spokesperson said the president will do what is necessary to protect the homeland and troops abroad. What was promised as a quick war, Axios notes, has become an open-ended battle over a critical trade artery.
