The New York Times will launch a local newsletter pilot in the Twin Cities next month

According to Nieman Lab, the New York Times announced it will launch The Local, a new journalism initiative aimed at serving and engaging communities with localized content. The pilot program launches in August with a newsletter focused on the Twin Cities. This marks the Times' first major push into hyperlocal news coverage outside its national and international reporting.
