Risks of historic El Niño persisting through spring 2027 rising, says NWS
science
According to The Guardian, the US National Weather Service says the odds of a historic El Niño are climbing. Its latest advisory puts an eighty-one percent chance that a very strong event, ranking among the largest in the record going back to nineteen fifty, will develop before year's end. And there's near certainty, a ninety-seven percent probability, that those conditions will hold through spring twenty twenty-seven. A strong El Niño can supercharge extreme weather worldwide, from droughts to flooding.
