Live: Iran buries Khamenei after new fighting with US erupts

According to France 24, Iran on Friday laid to rest its former supreme leader Ali Khamenei, more than four months after he was killed in an airstrike. His flag-covered coffin was carried into the shrine of Imam Reza in his home city of Mashhad, in eastern Iran, as crowds gathered outside to listen to prayers. There was no public appearance by his son and named successor, Mojtaba Khamenei. The burial came as two days of exchanged attacks between the United States and Iran raised fears of a return to all-out war. France 24 is following developments in a live blog.
