Derryn Hinch, the veteran Australian broadcaster and former senator known as the "human headline," has died at eighty-two. According to The Guardian, his death was confirmed on-air by his old radio station, 3AW. In separate news the outlet is following, telecommunications company Telstra says South Australia police are investigating the death of a person at a regional hospital during the company's network outage, which disrupted triple zero emergency calls. Telstra says it is working with police to establish whether the death is connected to the outage. A government minister has said the company must "face the music" over the disruption.
