Apollo hijacks easyJet takeover with £5.7bn bid, trumping Castlelake

easyJet has agreed to a five point seven billion pound takeover bid from US private equity firm Apollo, according to Euronews. The move abandons the budget airline's backing for American bidder Castlelake, which easyJet had committed to supporting just days earlier.
