Jeffrey Wright Says Being Black Is a ‘Political Term,’ Talks Racist Abuse Against Kylian Mbappé: ‘They Think They Can Diminish How Powerful He Is With Their Stupidity’

According to Variety, actor Jeffrey Wright spoke out about the racist abuse aimed at football star Kylian Mbappé. Variety reports that after Paraguay's World Cup loss to France, Paraguayan senator Celeste Amarilla attacked Mbappé on social media, calling him, among other things, a brute who had not learned to write. Wright pushed back at the remarks, dismissing them as nonsense and saying such attempts to diminish Mbappé only expose the ignorance behind them.
