Journalist Richard Guilliatt resigns from Walkley awards board after critic wins reporting prize

According to The Guardian, journalist Richard Guilliatt has resigned from the Walkley awards judging board. The Walkley Foundation dismissed complaints about his Shadow of Doubt podcast and then awarded a mid-year Walkley for freelance journalist of the year to Nina Funnell, whose reporting had been critical of him. Funnell's winning series of three articles in news.com.au told the story of a woman who was abused by her own parents for fourteen years. That survivor said she was devastated that her father, who was jailed for forty-eight years, had been interviewed for Guilliatt's podcast.
