Waxing Gibbous Moon

science

According to NASA, astronauts aboard the International Space Station captured a photograph of the waxing gibbous moon on June twenty-sixth. The station was orbiting two hundred sixty-four miles above the Indian Ocean, southeast of Madagascar, when they snapped the shot. The waxing gibbous phase occurs just before the full moon, when the Moon appears increasingly bright. It's a beautiful reminder that the best views of Earth sometimes come with an equally stunning view of the cosmos.
