According to Euronews, Turkish President Erdoğan surprised NATO leaders by presenting them with custom-engraved point three five seven Magnum revolvers. Reactions were mixed—some found it amusing, others seemed taken aback. But gifting personalized firearms to heads of state isn't a new practice. It's a diplomatic tradition stretching back to the era of Samuel Colt, and as recently as twenty nineteen, when a Czech pistol was presented to President Trump.
