Police arrest man on suspicion of Ann Widdecombe’s murder

According to The Guardian, police have arrested a twenty-six-year-old man on suspicion of the murder of the former MP Ann Widdecombe. Her body was found with serious injuries at her home in Haytor, Dartmoor, in Devon on Thursday morning, discovered by the ambulance service late that morning. Widdecombe, who was seventy-eight, served for years as a Conservative MP before a later political and public career. Devon and Cornwall police say the investigation is ongoing.
