Top Boy actor Michael Ward cleared of rape and sexual assault charges

The actor Michael Ward, known for the crime drama Top Boy and Steve McQueen's Small Axe anthology, has been cleared of rape and sexual assault. The Guardian reports that the twenty-eight-year-old was acquitted of two counts of rape, two counts of assault by penetration, and one count of sexual assault following a ten-day trial at Snaresbrook crown court. The five charges related to an encounter with a woman Ward met at a New Year's Day party in London in 2023.
