world
The death toll from Venezuela's twin earthquakes has climbed past four thousand, according to The Guardian. Parliament chief Jorge Rodríguez said at least four thousand one hundred eighteen people were killed and more than sixteen thousand seven hundred injured in the back-to-back quakes on the twenty-fourth of June, which flattened entire districts in the coastal state of La Guaira. Thousands more remain missing, and the United Nations and President Delcy Rodríguez are appealing for financial help as the scale of the recovery effort comes into focus.
