Statistical Policy Directive No. 8: North American Industry Classification System (NAICS)-Request for Comments on Proposed Updates for 2027

Per the Federal Register, the Office of Management and Budget is updating the North American Industry Classification System, which categorizes U.S. industries for statistical purposes. The proposed changes would clarify existing definitions, recognize new industries, and consolidate existing ones. The OMB is accepting public comment on the updates for twenty twenty-seven.
