Iran's supreme leader: Revenge "will most certainly be carried out"
world
Axios reports that Iran's supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, has declared that revenge for the assassination of his father will most certainly be carried out. The statement, posted to his Telegram channel after the burial of former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, vowed to bring what he called the killers to justice, adding that the revenge would be accomplished whether he is alive or dead. Khamenei, who Axios says was seriously wounded in the attack that killed his father, did not name Trump directly, though the outlet notes U.S. and Israeli officials say Iranian officials recently discussed the idea of assassinating the president. In response, Trump posted on Truth Social that missiles were, in his words, locked and loaded and aimed at Iran should its government act on the threat against him.
