Scientists discover the one nutrient beneficial parasites can't live without
health
Per ScienceDaily, researchers found that dietary fiber determines whether beneficial intestinal parasites help reduce inflammation or simply go dormant. With plenty of fiber, the worms remain active and deliver genuine anti-inflammatory benefits. Without it, they enter a hibernation-like state, losing their helpful effects. The research also showed that high-fiber diets promote healthier, more diverse gut bacteria, while Western-style diets do the opposite—reducing bacterial diversity and favoring less beneficial microbes.
