According to France 24, more than half of France is under red alert as an exceptional heatwave sweeps across the country. Temperatures are reaching up to forty-one degrees Celsius in some areas. The extreme heat has forced several cities to cancel this year's Fete de la Musique—the annual Music Celebration festival—and authorities have banned alcohol consumption on the streets. Event organizers have been asked to adjust their festivities to cope with the dangerous conditions.
