world
The Guardian reports that Iran has launched attacks on several Gulf countries — Jordan, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman and the United Arab Emirates — following fresh US strikes, with Tehran saying it is closing the Strait of Hormuz, the vital oil shipping route at the mouth of the Gulf. Graham, who had just turned seventy-one and had served in the Senate since two thousand three, was running for re-election in November.
