Nothing to suggest Ann Widdecombe death politically motivated, say police

politics

British police say there is nothing to suggest the death of Ann Widdecombe, the former Conservative MP, was politically motivated. Speaking at a press conference on Sunday morning, Devon and Cornwall Police assistant chief constable Matt Longman said detectives remain open-minded about the motive but have no evidence pointing to a political cause, and that the killing is not being treated as terrorism. The Guardian reports that a twenty-eight-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of her murder, and officers say they are not looking for anyone else.
