Myanmar has assured its Southeast Asian neighbors that detained former leader Aung San Suu Kyi is being cared for, according to Channel NewsAsia. The remarks came as the top diplomats of the eleven-member Association of Southeast Asian Nations met face-to-face with their Myanmar counterpart on Sunday, the first such meeting since the coup. The gathering aimed to revive a five-year-old peace initiative that has so far failed to end the civil war gripping the country.
