McConnell breaks weeks of silence about his hospitalization

Axios reports that Senator Mitch McConnell addressed his hospitalization on Sunday, breaking weeks of silence following a fall more than four weeks earlier. In a statement, he confirmed he was briefly unconscious and dealt with mild pneumonia during his recovery. He also assured that he suffered no broken bones, concussion, heart attack, stroke, tumor, or hemorrhage. The Kentucky Republican cited the demands of Senate work in his decision to retire at the end of January, but vows to complete his remaining term.
