A major wildfire swept through France's Fontainebleau forest, about sixty kilometers southeast of Paris, on Sunday, burning more than eight hundred hectares. Per the Guardian, the fire spread rapidly through the historic royal preserve, evacuating villages and partially closing the A6 highway—the country's main north-south artery. The blaze continued burning into Monday amid heatwave conditions.
