Tice gauges the mood on the death of Ann Widdecombe, but only on second try | John Crace

politics

The Guardian reports on the death of Ann Widdecombe, the former British MP, whose killing is being treated as a murder. Police have asked the public not to speculate about the suspect's motives, with a person being questioned by counter-terrorism officers as of Monday lunchtime, and have urged politicians not to politicise the case. In the Commons, Reform's deputy leader Richard Tice struck a measured tone, and party leader Nigel Farage, the paper notes, has for now fallen silent rather than offering commentary to television crews.
