ICE agents kill man in Maine as senator says victim not target of arrest

The Guardian reports that a man was killed on Monday in a shooting involving US immigration officials in Maine. Rights groups identified him as a twenty-six-year-old Colombian. Senator Angus King said on CNN that the man was not the target of an immigration enforcement operation, reversing an earlier statement he had made at a press conference. The killing comes days after a man was fatally shot by an immigration officer during a traffic stop in Texas.
