A court in Sudan has sentenced General Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, known as Hemedti, to death in absentia. France 24 reports that the commander of the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces was found responsible for war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide, particularly in the West Darfur region. The verdict was handed down while Hemedti remains outside the court's reach.
