Inflation cools to 3.5% in June in relief brought by brief US-Iran deal

The Guardian reports June's inflation cooled to three point five percent following a brief US-Iran ceasefire that lowered energy prices. The consumer price index had jumped to a three-year high of four point two percent in May, largely due to elevated energy costs. Yet recent strikes have sent oil prices climbing again, with average gas prices up seventy cents per gallon compared to a year ago.
