ECB selects 36 payment providers for digital euro pilot as the project moves ahead

The European Central Bank has taken another step forward with its digital euro project. Per Euronews, the ECB has selected thirty-six payment service providers to participate in a year-long pilot program launching in twenty twenty-seven. The initiative aims to give Europeans a digital form of central bank money while reducing dependence on payment networks controlled by other countries.
