US House passes bill to make daylight saving time permanent

The US House overwhelmingly passed the Sunshine Protection Act, ending the twice-yearly practice of changing clocks in favor of permanent daylight saving time. Per The Guardian, the vote was 308 to 117 with bipartisan support, including backing from Donald Trump and Democratic co-sponsors. Next stop: the Senate.
