One person missing and 17 rescued after boat fire near San Francisco’s Alcatraz Island

One person is missing and seventeen others were rescued after a fire broke out on a pontoon boat near San Francisco's Alcatraz Island on Tuesday. The Guardian reports that the vessel was left partially submerged about six hundred yards from the famous former prison island, now a popular tourist attraction. The US Coast Guard confirmed that search-and-rescue efforts were still ongoing Tuesday afternoon.
