Ahmed El Attar brings rage, resistance and humanity to the stage in Avignon

France 24 is reporting from southern France, where the Avignon theatre festival is celebrating its eightieth edition with a cultural spotlight on Korea. Korean is the guest language this year, bringing Korean drama, dance, and literary works to the stage. The festival is also presenting Julien Gosselin's 'Maldoror,' a high-tech exploration of evil performed at the Palais des Papes, and Egyptian director Ahmed El Attar's recent work, which brings rage, resistance, and humanity to the theatrical experience.
