FCC Moves to End Cap on National Broadcast Ownership

Variety reports the FCC is moving to scrap a longtime rule limiting TV station ownership. Under the current cap, no single owner can control stations reaching more than thirty-nine percent of U.S. markets. The FCC is now considering replacing that hard ceiling with case-by-case reviews of future purchases. A vote is scheduled for August sixth.
