Chris Meledandri, George Lucas, Jodie Foster and Sigourney Weaver Receive France’s Prestigious Legion of Honor

French President Emmanuel Macron honored five major figures in international cinema at a state ceremony at the Élysée Palace in Paris, Variety reports. Among them was Chris Meledandri, founder and CEO of Illumination Entertainment, whose animated franchises 'Despicable Me' and 'Minions' hold the record as the highest-grossing animated film series of all time, with over five point seven billion dollars in global box office revenue. The Legion of Honor also recognized George Lucas, Jodie Foster, and Sigourney Weaver, celebrating their extraordinary contributions to world cinema.
