US launches ‘wave of strikes’ on Iran, Tehran threatens to halt regional energy exports

The United States launched rare daytime attacks on Iran on Wednesday, including a ninety-minute wave of strikes, while reimposing a naval blockade on Iranian ports. France 24 reports that Tehran fired back at what it called U.S. military targets in Gulf states and threatened to cut off energy exports across the region. That threat carries weight well beyond the two countries, since much of the world's oil moves through the Gulf.
