United earnings top estimates but airline reports $6 billion in added fuel costs

United Airlines topped Wall Street estimates with stronger second-quarter results, according to CNBC, boosted by higher revenues from premium seating, corporate customers, and basic economy travelers on both domestic and international routes. The airline did so while facing six billion dollars in additional fuel costs.
