Per Variety, Andy Serkis, directing the new 'Lord of the Rings' film 'The Hunt for Gollum,' said on Wednesday that the production will 'somewhat acknowledge' the franchise's lack of diversity. The movie, now in production with an all-white cast headlined by Jamie Dornan and Anna Taylor-Joy, drew attention for its casting choices. Serkis said the film won't pursue 'politically correct casting for the sake of casting.'
