Judge: Trump can’t deport researchers just for working in content moderation

Ars Technica reports that a federal judge has blocked enforcement of a Trump administration policy targeting non-US citizens in content moderation, fact-checking, and related research. On Tuesday, US District Judge James Boasberg issued a preliminary injunction preventing the State Department from enforcing visa restrictions and green card revocations while the Coalition for Independent Technology Research's lawsuit continues. The policy had authorized investigations into researchers suspected of assisting foreign adversaries in manipulating public opinion.
