Russian streetwear founder says draft notices cost him his key staff as a sales slump and a fuel crisis batter ‘Marcelo Miracles’

business

Russian streetwear brand Marcelo Miracles announced it's facing shutdown. Founder Mark Rodovsky posted a video on July fourteenth saying the company can no longer sustain itself amid cascading crises, per Meduza. The collapse began with staff. Over the past year, three key employees—the head designer, production manager, and IT director—received draft notices within a single month. Some entered the military; others left the country. Without handoffs, established workflows fell apart. Economic pressure compounded the problem. Fashion sales across Russia fell roughly thirty percent at year's end as customers stopped paying premium prices, Rodovsky said. Contractor costs rose monthly. Fuel shortages threaten higher supply expenses. With the company absorbing too many simultaneous blows, Rodovsky said its survival depends on the success of its next collection.
