The Guardian reports that Australia's royal commission into antisemitism has heard how a student at the Australian National University was asked to produce death certificates to secure more time on an assessment, after saying relatives had been killed in Gaza. A barrister for the Australia Palestine Advocacy Network, Yasser Bakri, raised the case on Thursday with the university's acting provost, Professor Joan Leach, telling the commission the student's supervisor had told them proof would be required. The inquiry also heard that a safety review of a pro-Palestine protest encampment at the university had found it carried a high psychosocial risk.
