British girl, 15, stranded in Rome for six weeks due to new passport rules
politics
A 15-year-old British dual national was stranded in Rome in April after visiting her grandmother. She couldn't return to the UK because of a new Home Office rule, now in effect since February, that requires dual British nationals to carry a British passport to re-enter the country. Per the Guardian, the girl missed six weeks of school, and she's far from alone — multiple children and young adults have been caught out by the same Labour government policy.
