Wildfires are sweeping across Algeria, fueled by extreme heat and a prolonged drought, France 24 reports. Authorities counted more than one hundred thirty fires in a single day, and at least one person has been killed. The damage has hit farmers and livestock owners especially hard. Summer wildfires are common in Algeria, but this year's blazes have been unusually severe.
